MOSCOW, JANUARY 19 – RIA Novosti. The Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov completed the work in open space, returned to the Russian segment of the International Space Station and closed the exit door on the Poisk module, following the broadcast, which is available on Roscosmo’s website. Work in the open space began at 15.18 Moscow time January 19 – 18 minutes later than planned. For Dubrov, who was at the station for the first time, this was already the fourth exit, for Shkaplerov, who is making his fourth spaceflight, it was the third exit. The cosmonauts prepared the latest module of the Russian segment of Prichal station for the docking of spacecraft. They installed a new Kurs-P rendezvous and docking system antenna on it and connected the system cables between the Nauka and Prichal modules. In addition, Shkaplerov placed a docking target on Prichal. During the exit, the cosmonauts also released the handrails on the new module from the screen vacuum thermal insulation that protected them during the launch. This is necessary to facilitate extravehicular activities during the next exits. In addition, the Dubrov TV camera moved from one anchorage point to another, now it stands at the passive docking station and looks towards the ground. The cosmonauts also connected TV cables for communication between modules so that in the future it would be possible to film the docking of spacecraft with the Berth module. The communication between the astronauts and the Earth was interrupted several times for more than 10 minutes. It is noteworthy that while the ground specialists tried to “get through” to Shkaplerov and Dubrov, the cosmonauts continued to work on the basics and only came periodically with comments about the “mysterious silence” that had come. The multifunctional laboratory module (MLM) “Nauka” docked at the station on July 29, 2021. The Prichal Nodal Module became part of the Russian segment of the ISS on November 26. It was previously known that a total of ten exits will be implemented at the end of 2022 for integration and retrofitting of Nauka and Prichal. Dubrov made three of them with another Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky on June 2, September 3 and 10. Dubrov and Novitsky arrived at the station on April 9, 2021. As Dubrov himself said, in total he can participate in seven space walks. On October 5, Anton Shkaplerov arrived at the station and with him a film team consisting of actress Yulia Peresild and Klima Shipenko. After 12 days of filming on the ISS, they returned to Earth with Oleg Novitsky, while Shkaplerov stayed and went home with Petr Dubrov in the spring of 2022. Shkaplerov himself said that he would go into outer space three or four times. Now the crew is working on the 66: the expedition aboard the International Space Station – Roscosmos cosmonauts, ISS chief Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, as well as NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hai, Raja Chari, Thomas Marshburn, Kayla Barron and the European Space Agency astronaut Matthias Maurer.
