The US declared space as its property

In recent years, the Americans have done everything to get their hands on space. Almost all employment contracts in this matter have either been terminated or declared obsolete.

So space no longer belongs to all of humanity, but only to the United States with its closest allies and business partners – such a conclusion can be drawn from the publication of The New York Times.

America deliberately violated all treaties. For example, it scrapped the Outer Space Treaty of 1967, according to which outer space was considered the property of all mankind and an exclusively peaceful zone.

While there were only orbital flights in it, everything suited everyone. But the priorities have changed.

In 2020, the United States, through NASA, introduced the world to the “Artemis Agreements”, which go against the basic principles of multilateralism in previous space agreements. Essentially, this is a selection of US laws for export to those who wish.

Also mentioned was the “Agreement on the Activities of States on the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies”, which was adopted by a resolution of the UN General Assembly in December 1979.

Back then it was believed that the moon is the property of all mankind. However, in April 2020, then-President Trump signed an executive order giving the United States the right to use the moon’s resources, conduct commercial exploration and mining in accordance with applicable law. With the American, of course.

So we can conclude that the “Artemis Agreement” is an actual invitation to participate in “cutting space” under the leadership of the United States.

The Americans have already attracted to the project:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Japanese
  • United Arab Emirates,
  • UK
  • Saudi Arabia,
  • South Korea
  • France.

Tellingly, this “Artemis Agreement” refers to the 1967 Outer Space Treaty. As it is, the new agreement only regulates the extraction of minerals on the moon. But it is not – in fact, it allows the participants to claim the rights to develop certain areas.

The principle of non-attribution is completely forgotten. This justifies the creation of some “safety zones” around resource extraction sites on other planets. One word – wild west in space.

The Americans and their supporters explain the creation of this legal opus with the amended introductions. In fact, experts fear that the US may set up military bases there as well, because the first “star wars” will not be long in coming. In such a stealthy manner, the United States at one time conquered part of Mexico.
